DESCRIPTION:
The HI981409 TDS Gro’chek meters have been specifically designed to address the needs of operators in hydroponics, greenhouses and nurseries. The meters employ the latest in custom-built application specific microchips together with a purpose-built rugged housing to measure the TDS of the fertilizer mix. Calibration is easy and completely automatic. Simply hold the on/off button pressed for a few seconds and the microchip inside the meter requests the appropriate calibration solution. Introduce the probe to the solution and wait until it is calibrated. No extra buttons to press or dials to turn! Temperature affects TDS measurements to the tune of 2% per degree. The specially-designed HI1220 TDS probe incorporates a fast-responding temperature sensor. This means that readings are quickly compensated for the temperature effect by the meters microprocessor so that you have accurate measurements, every time. HI981409 comes in sturdy and waterproof casing. The specially designed stick meters actually float for quick retrieval if accidentally dropped in the fertilizer vat. The HI1220 probe measures 25 cm (10”) and can be even used to mix the fertilizer solution! Should the need arise to change the electrode, simply detach and replace it without having to take it to a specialist. We have also thought of a rubber sleeve to protect the connector against humidity and spills. The custom-built microprocessor switches the meter off after five minutes of inactivity to save the batteries. In addition the batteries will last more than 12 months even when they are used up to 10 times a day for 5 minutes at a time. The outer casing also incorporates a molded eye so that the meter can be hung right where it is most needed.
