DESCRIPTION:
Every Personal Computer comes with standard RS232 Serial I/O Ports for communicating with the "outside world". The FlexPLC System uses your PC's serial port to download your custom configuration file. FlexPLC's serial port is a 2-wire serial bus known as RS485. To allow the PC to communicate with the FlexPLC we need to provide a means of converting serial RS232 to serial RS485. The AAS RS232 to RS485 Serial Interface Module provides this conversion. The advantages of the RS485 Bus are that you can have up to 31 addressable FlexPLC Systems on the bus, it uses just a single pair of wires, it can communicate up to 4000 feet away, and it is very immune to noise.
